ANIMATRONICS HEAD ON A SUITED ACTOR.
Honeymonster is now one of the
longest running characters on
UK television adverts.Most of the Henson Creature Shop
top animatronics puppeteers have
had stint on old ‘H.M’s’ controls at
one time or another over the last
15 years.
I had my period with him on the three
years prior to going out to Sydney
to film Babe 2.
There were shoots with Kevin Keegan
in Wembley Stadium , a Rock Concert
shoot with Boyzone , and a James
Bond pastiche shot on locations
around Capetown in South Africa.
BRITISH TELECOM THE E.T. CAMPAIGN
MIX OF ANIMATRONIC - CABLE WORK - AND HANDS-0N PUPPETRY.
As far as animatronic puppets go,
this one is a Legend.
E.T. was flown over from the states,
with 2 of Stan Winstons’ puppeteers.The four of us that shot ‘Babe2’
joined them to make up the 6 man
team needed to work this one amazing little puppet.I only have pictures from
BT literature , as cameras
were not allowed anywhere
near the ET puppet.
Even shrouded in secrecy, it
was nice to operate a Cult
figure.
Various shoots over a two year period at Shepperton , Pinewood
and Elstree sound stages.

Made for Italy, but shot in and
around Madrid.
Telefonica are a very big Phone
company operating
right across Europe.Two fluffy red muppets’.
whose body and head
shapes make up the “88”
part of this companies
Directory Enquiries number.This is a ‘rod removal’ shoot ,
where we green lycra clad puppeteers
are digitally removed
in post-production.
